John M. Rouse
A design publishing veteran of 25 years, John has total responsibility for all day to day business operations for Contract Magazine. John began in sales with Interiors Magazine, becoming publisher in 1994. After a series of mergers, John joined Contract as publisher in 2001. In 2005, John began discussions that led to the launch of Contract China in 2006. In the past nine years, Contract has won nine national design and editorial awards for its print and digital products.
Contractmagazine and ContractMagazine.com are at the hub of commercial interior design and architecture, connecting professionals and covering processes, products, projects and practice issues that set the standards in the industry. James A. Brownrigg
In his role as Vice President and Director of Healthcare for Turner Construction Company, Jim Brownrigg is responsible for the effective management and development of healthcare projects across the U.S. valued at over $2 billion annually. Turner’s healthcare solution provides clients with an integrated, focused approach to preconstruction, construction, facility and medical equipment planning and procurement, risk management, and operational efficiency of building assets. He directly oversees Turner’s national healthcare market segment and Turner Logistics Supply Chain Solutions.
Jim was a founding member of Turner Logistics in 2001. The company evolved from the successes and project requirements of Turner Construction Company’s e-Technologies group in Seattle, Washington. Turner’s e-technologies Group handled all telecommunications nationally and internationally. Under Jim’s leadership, Turner successfully completed in excess of $600 million in advanced technology projects. As a result of the volume of equipment purchased through those sales, Turner created Turner Logistics to efficiently manage the manufactured goods supply chain to meet the client and projects demand.
Jim is a founding member of the Center for Connected Medicine located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At the Center for Connected Medicine, leaders in health care, computing, networking, and communications collaborate to develop a new health care model-one based on patient-centric care, technology, efficiency, and simplicity. This new model of connected medicine integrates information technologies, health records, and devices to put patients at the center of health care.
Jim has presented across the country on supply chain and construction delivery models throughout multiple market verticals. Deborah Burnett ASID CMG
Deborah is an internationally recognized Epigenetic Design authority and thought provoking keynote presenter who shares evidence-based insight and practical application of circadian supportive lighting, daylighting and design interventions in pursuit of healthy environments for the human animal.
Recognized as a leading authority in the emerging field of EPIGENETIC design, Deborah is an award winning, state registered interior designer, licensed building contractor, lighting designer and chair holder of the Color Marketing Group. Combining her 30+ years of knowledge of the interior environment with evidence-based scientific research, she is bridging the gap between medicine and design with her unique perspective and extensive physician-level study. With passion and enthusiasm she has enlightened international audiences, university students and A/E and ID firms and professional organizations worldwide as to how and why the body, brain, and emotions are directly affected by the places we work, shop, learn, relax, heal and....call home.
Now joined in partnership with Edison award-winning lighting designer and internationally recognized daylighting technologies authority, James Benya FIES, FIALD, LC to form the consultancy firm BENYA BURNETT, Deborah has expanded her talents targeting progressive energy focused A/E and ID firms with their experience, skill and proven track record of measurable results in achieving below code energy efficiency and net zero projects with a ‘humanizing light’ approach with epigenetic circadian considerations.
Mike McMillen
Mike is a Senior Communications Technology Designer with Gresham Smith and Partners located in Nashville, Tennessee. Gresham Smith and Partners is an architectural, engineering, and interiors design firm that offers professional services in the corporate and urban design, aviation, civil and land planning, environmental compliance, federal, healthcare, industrial, transportation and water services markets. Mike has more than 29 years of communications and information technology systems experience and has been involved in more than 375 healthcare construction projects. He has experience in facility assessments, functional analysis, planning, design, procurement, and project management. Systems include telephone, voice over internet protocol (VoIP), wireless networks, nurse call, public address paging, intercom, radio, cable and satellite TV, audio and video conferencing, security systems, and voice, data and video network cabling infrastructure. Mike has degrees in electronic engineering technology, business administration and an MBA in technology management.
Robert S. Stewart - Director IT&S, HCA Design and Construction
Bob is the Director of Information Technology for Design and Construction at HCA, Hospital Corporation of America. His responsibilities include budgeting, design consultation and providing project management and procurement for HCA’s capital construction projects.
A 26-year veteran of the company, Bob began his career at HCA in 1984 with TransMed, a home health organization within HCA providing oxygen, medical equipment, supplies and services to homebound patients. He has served the company in a variety of roles including Customer Support Analyst, Implementations Manager and Operations Support Coordinator.
In 1997, Bob created the Information Systems “IT engagement” activity with construction projects. Since then, his involvement with HCA facility projects include; new facilities, major expansions and special projects. He works directly with each facility to orchestrate the wide acceptance and use of IT in the healthcare space.
Bob has a bachelor’s degree in Management from Trevecca University in Nashville.
He resides in Mt. Juliet, TN. with his wife and three children.
