T.K. Davis Named Design Director of the Nashville Civic Design Center

Associate Professor T.K. Davis has been named the new Design Director of the Nashville Civic Design Center. Founded in 2000, the Design Center serves as a resource for education and advocacy in the design of quality urban space and community development.

The group advises on design standards, studies projects and proposals, identifies opportunities for new development and infill, an d analyzes zoning and development regulations among other activities.

Davis replaces former design director Mark Schimmenti, who left the non-profit organization having fulfilled a three-year commitment. Schimmenti returned to his teaching position on the faculty of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He had been on loan from the university to the Nashville Civic Design Center since January of 2001.
