Design Competition Deadline Extended
Artists to Envision Nashville in 2054
NASHVILLE – The Nashville Civic Design Center, in partnership with the Arts and Business Council of Greater Nashville, has extended its design competition to January 13th, 2010. The deadline was extended to accommodate a larger number of entrants to this innovative approach to visioning the future of Nashville. Artists are asked to envision what Nashville will look like in 2054, 50 years after The Plan of Nashville. The competition is part of the Nashville Civic Design Center’s festivities to celebrate the five-year anniversary of The Plan of Nashville.
Competition winners will be announced at a celebratory reception on the 18th of February. The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize as well as a signed copy of Phil Ponder’s new print, “Nashville Adventure.” The runner-up will receive a $250 cash prize. The entry fee is $25 per person. Team entries are welcome. Artists can use any medium, and the entry must be no larger than 36” x 36” x 36”. For the rules of the competition, please visit the NCDC’s web site at: www.civicdesigncenter.org/projects/Nashville_2054.
The top entries will be on display at the NCDC art gallery through March 2010.
