DESCRIPTION:MDHA has a new Riverfront Redevelopment Website \: www.nashvilleriverfront.org [https\://nashvilleriverfront.org/] \nHistory of the Project\nMayor Bill Purcell announced October 6\, 2005 that the Metro Parks and Recreation Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will work with the Nashville Civic Design Center to create a Nashville Riverfront Redevelopment Master Plan.\nThe Nashville Riverfront Redevelopment Plan process relied on citizen input gathered at three public meetings to build on the principles in The Plan of Nashville that emphasize the importance of the river as an environmental\, recreational and economic development asset.\nPublic Meeting ProcessThe Nashville Civic Design Center\, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers \, the Metro Parks and Recreation Department and the consulting firm of Kennedy\, Coulter\, Rushing and Watson would like to thank all who participated in the public meetings to gather ideas for the Nashville Riverfront Redevelopment Plan.\nNearly 300 citizens\, including five members of the Metro Council\, attended one of the three meetings\, held December 3rd\, 5th\, and 8th\, of 2005.\nView the Public Meeting Report\nNashville Riverfront Redevelopment Master Plan Public Meeting Report (6.75 MB) [http\://www.sitemason.com/files/duk6U8/NashvilleRiverfrontReport_web.pdf]\nClick the images below to see them displayed larger.\n [http\://www.civicdesigncenter.org.moses.com/images/RRD1.jpg]  [http\://www.civicdesigncenter.org.moses.com/images/RRD2.jpg]  [http\://www.civicdesigncenter.org.moses.com/images/RRD3.jpg]\nHargreaves Associates Waterfront Redevelopment Master PlanHargreaves Associates [http\://www.hargreaves.com/] was chosen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Metro Nashville Parks Department to lead a team of experts in the creation of a Cumberland River Waterfront Redevelopment Master Plan for the city of Nashville. In addition to Hargreaves Associates\, the design team included local firms Hawkins Partners (landscape architects) and Everton Oglesby Architects\; Kennedy\, Coulter\, Rushing and Watson of Chattanooga\; Moffatt & Nichol of Raleigh\; Christopher Leinberger of Washington\, DC\; and Glatting Jackson K.A.L.R. of Orlando.\nThe Master Plan process\, which included public meetings to gather feedback on components of the plan as it was developed\, was completed in early 2007. The Master Plan study area encompasses nearly six miles of waterfront centered on downtown Nashville and includes both the East and West banks of the river.
