Survey: Ideas for a future park on Chadwell Drive

There are two parcels of land that are under Metro Government of Nashville & Davidson County - Parks and Recreation jurisdiction. This area is considered a park deficit in Plan To Play: Countywide Parks and Greenways Master Plan. This means there are no parks within a 15-minute walk of this site.

Council Member Nancy VanReece worked with Amazon to provide a grant to the Civic Design Center to create design visions that can be used to advocate for the future public space.

Above is a Google Street View showing existing conditions (2023) looking from the intersection of Chadwell and Westchester Dr

The following maps are spacial comparisons to show popular programs overlayed over the existing park footprint:

Our Design Studio team put together some inspirational images of elements identified by the community during an in-person design charrette on January 24th and a virtual listening session on February 23rd, 2023. The following images show design elements to inspire future programs of the park:

On February 27th, 2023 we hosted an additional in-person design charrette at Nashville Public Library’s Madison Branch. Council Member Jennifer Gamble also attended the event. Here, we shared the inspirational images and collected more ideas for the future park on Chadwell Drive, but the feedback period is not over! Take the survey below to share your ideas.
