Coffee, Community, and Cleanup at Brown's Creek

Help protect one of Nashville’s important natural waterways! Litter threatens the health of Browns Creek, which supports clean water, wildlife, and healthy outdoor spaces. Join Hands On, Greenways for Nashville, the Civic Design Center, and the Tennessee Environmental Council for a meaningful morning of learning and hands-on service.

What to Expect

  • Welcome and coffee

  • Brief overview of a planned 1‑mile I‑440 Greenway connection linking Sevier Park, Gale Lane Park, Browns Creek Park, and the Browns Creek Greenway

  • Short talk on environmental stewardship

  • Volunteer orientation

  • Cleanup along Browns Creek (trash and debris removal)

Who Can Volunteer

  • Individuals and groups welcome

  • No prior experience needed

  • Great for community members who enjoy outdoor service and environmental stewardship

  • Tools, supplies, and on-site guidance

Getting There

  • Hands On will send you exact location details after signing up.

  • Driving, biking, and walking are all welcome. For those who prefer to bike, there will be a bike bus from East Nashville to the project site, allowing volunteers to ride together safely and socially.
