PechaKucha Vol. 51 Hot Takes + Hot Chicken

  • Center 615 615 Main Street Nashville, TN, 37206 United States (map)

Nashville has takes as hot as our chicken. In a city of diverse thought and opinions, there are some things that most don’t think of as an argument, like our reverence for Dolly Parton. However, for this PechaKucha, we will be providing a platform for speakers who are ready to strike up a debate. Maybe we shouldn’t criticize bachelorette parties as much as we do... Maybe the Nashville traffic isn’t that bad... Maybe the music scene isn’t really about country... Our speakers will have 6 minutes and 40 seconds to give a pitch for their Nashville “hot takes;" at the beer break, we will survey the audience to see if the speakers changed hearts and minds.

Naturally, Prince’s Hot Chicken and refreshments will be served for attendees!

About PechaKucha

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", PechaKucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It grew into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. The Civic Design Center is the Nashville host.
