As above, so below. Dialectical materialism. The chicken and the egg. This idea shows up across human history from spiritual texts to architecture and urban planning to art. Our ideas influence the material world, and the material world influences our ideas.

Join us for PechaKucha Volume 53 where you will see 8 lightning talks under 7 minutes each that will discuss the dialogue of space. Presenters will cover a range of topics such as architectural spaces influencing our moods, designing places of worship, how we can build spaces that support creativity, and more.

Each ticket will also include free admission to the art exhibits on display at the Frist!

About PechaKucha

Drawing its name from the Japanese term for the sound of "chit chat", PechaKucha rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace.

PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for young designers to meet, network, and show their work in public. It grew into a massive celebration, with events happening in hundreds of cities around the world, inspiring creatives worldwide. The Civic Design Center is the Nashville host.
