January UDF: Planning for the Year Ahead

year ahead graphicai-01.png

Starting off the year in the right direction is important.  We make new year resolutions and set long-term goals that we hope to accomplish throughout the year.  For this Urban Design Forum, we are bringing together community leaders in Transportation and Planning to discuss the plans and goals for Nashville in 2021, and how these goals impact communities across the entire state of Tennessee.

Collaborative planning practices require coordination across multiple agencies, so the Design Center will be moderating a panel conversation between local, regional, and state-level organizations (TDOT, GNRC, & Nashville Metro Planning Department) to evaluate how their approaches align with one another. Additionally, the panel aims to identify how communities can help determine the direction of projects and make sure their voices are heard.

Moderator:

  • Tanisha Hall | Fairpointe Planning

Panelists:

  • Lucy Kempf | Nashville Metro Planning Department

  • Paul Degges | TDOT

  • Sean Pfalzer | GNRC

Discussion with the panelists will include:

  • Goals and plans for each organization in 2021

  • Their approach to inclusion and equitable distribution of resources

  • How can communities get involved
