What Jolie does at the Design Center:

As Director of Strategic Partnerships, Jolie helps guide, grow and maintain sustaining partnerships and programs for our organization in a myriad of ways. Jolie’s passion is in efforts to honor and grow rich relationships, win-win connections and outcomes between the Civic Design Center and organizations of all types and capacities. A special focus is in overseeing our Design With Pets in Mind initiative founded in our collaborative work with Better Cities for Pets™, a Mars Petcare program.

A few of Jolie’s favorite moments and projects include:

  • Zena Howard’s Urban Design Forum talk and presentation we did in partnership with Frist Art Museum. The way Zena processes and leads design choices such as the National Museum of African American History & Culture; Motown Museum expansion in Detroit are inspirational.

  • Connecting and learning about organizational and program partners of all types, sizes and locations.

  • Overseeing the Better Cities for Pets Grant and airport certification programs. Connecting with cities and helping them in all efforts to support pets, pet owners and non-pet owners alike.

  • All PechaKucha events- getting to hear people’s perspectives and stories (and you can learn a lot in 20 slides x 20 seconds)!
